One day in Malmö, Sweden

One day in Malmö, Sweden

Hey there! The weather in Denmark has been pretty.. oh well, Danish.. and the only thing I want to do is snuggle under my blanket! And what goes well with that? Writing! So today I will tell you a bit about our trip, when we spent one day in Malmö!

“Always the bridesmaid, never the bride” says Lonely Planet about this city, always playing second fiddle to Copenhagen.

Malmö is only about 30km away from central Copenhagen, so in case you have some spare time and want to cross Sweden out of your visited countries, it is a perfect one day trip! It is accessible by train, bus and car, crossing the beautiful Øresund bridge. We took the 999 bus and the whole ride took about an hour, 30 minutes from the Copenhagen airport.

Gotta admit, the weather could have been better, as it was pretty cold and it also rained a little bit. But despite that, we had a really lovely day and I really liked the city! It is pretty similar to Copenhagen, but definitely less crowded. Let me tell you a bit more about it!

We got dropped off at the Gustav Adolfs Torg, beautiful square full of tulips and bikes! From here, we walked through to the Kungsparken (King’s park), which is the oldest park in Malmö. This time of the year is probably the best time to visit, as it was filled with blooming tulips and other flowers!

Ahojte!

Počasie v Dánsku je momentálne dosť.. no, dánske, takže si ležím pod dekou a nevychádzam z domu. A čo sa k tomuto hodí? No predsa nový článok!

Takže ak máte v Kodani nejaký voľný čas a chcete si odškrtnúť návštevu Švédska, ideál! My sme šli autobusom č. 999 a cesta trvala asi hodinu celkovo, 30 minút z Kodaňského letiska.

A tiež som tu videla môj prvý veterný mlyn (asi).

Here I have also seen the first windmill in my life (at least I think so!) and it was so pretty!

From the Kungsparken we continued… well, we didn’t really know where. I just wanted to get to the sea, which I knew should offer nice view of the bridge and Copenhagen on the other side. We just followed the Turning Torso and found ourselves in the middle of some industrial area, not so nice. But after some time we managed to find the Ribersborgsstranden, which was a nice beach-like area offering very nice views! And it was filled with dogwalkers, we got approached by this cute little guy!

Z Kungsparken sme pokračovali… no, vlastne sme si ani neboli istí kam.

You can’t miss the Turning Torso from here, which is the first twisted skyscraper in the world!

From here we decided to go back to the centre and get some lunch. Now we crossed the Slottsparken (Castle’s park), which was filled with ducks, geese and other cute animals!

While strolling the city we found this, anyone knows what this means?!

We got pretty tired, so we just decided to spend last minutes before the bus was leaving, sitting at the bench in the middle of the Gustav Adolfs Torg. It was filled with people enjoying the tiny bit of sun and beautiful tulips everywhere around!

Posledné minúty pred odchodom autobusu sme strávili na lavičke v strede Gustav Adolfs Torg a bolo tam nádherne! Veď posúďte sami.

Nature romance

My boyfriend thought it was a bit boring city, but for me it was perfect! A lot of nature mixed with great architecture, not so many tourists, perfect for runaway from the hustle and bustle of Copenhagen!

What about you? Have you been to Malmö? And did you like it?

A čo Vy? Už ste boli v Malmö? A páčilo sa?
